Refrigertor water dispenser not working But ice machine is working

The very starting time symptom here is important! The door h2o dispenser is non working simply the ice macine is working. You lot may only accept a frozen water tube in the door and then do the post-obit before diagnosing that your solenoid valve is bad: 1) the tube ordinarily runs nether the front of the refrigerator and commonly has a quick disconnect. Disengage the connectedness and printing the dispenser. If h2o comes out of the tube you have a frozen or blocked tube in the door. ii) Immediately suit the temperature in the freezer and warm the freezer compartment as much as you can without destroying the freezer contents. Wait 24 hours. This will usually unfreeze the line. Do not waste product your fourth dimension with a hair dryer. At present, if this doesn't work and you are convinced you demand to order and replace the solenoid, follow these steps. Assemble your tools offset. I needed a good ratchet gear up and a screwdriver. A shop towel is helpful for spilled water. A low-cal is handy. Pull out the refreigerator to gain admission to the rear of the unit of measurement. Unplug the power and close the water valve (older homes, yous may need to really shut the house water supply). Remove the screws which agree the encompass over the lower half of the refrigerator. On the left you will see the solenoid. It's always adept to see that your new part matches the i you experience needs replaced. They may not lucifer perfectly due to changing design only they should be very similar. One screw holds this role in identify and access is very uncomplicated. Now just unplug the electrical connections. In my case, one blue "blade" type connexion (powering the water) and one carmine "bract" type connection powering the ice maker. They are not the same size and this coupled with the coloring means yous volition not accidently switch them. pull the tubes articulate of the solenoid. This is unproblematic and needs no explantion. Catch your new solenoid and reattach both the electric and h2o lines (ii, remember, ice maker and drink dispencer). Supersede the single screw. Re-attach the rear, lower fridge cover and go to the front of the unit of measurement to bank check the water. You can listen advisedly and hear the power appoint from the new part bringing you h2o. Clean up, replace the refrigerator back to its place and expect really tired when your wife sees that y'all worked "so difficult"! Y'all probably saved at to the lowest degree $fifty-$lxxx from a service call which can now be used to take the family unit to dinner after your "exhausting" 15 minute workout of removing about 10 screws and wheeling the unit in and out of place. Writing this article took longer! My four year old worked harder holding the flash calorie-free!

Plastic Auger blades bankrupt in water ice tray

I used a digital camera and photographed the assembled unit of measurement and the metal blades earlier I started the repair. Then, I removed the summit screw on the clear shield. Flip over ice tray and removed two Phillips screws on lesser. Exterior plastic white embrace comes off next. The embrace sides have hard push-in white plastic tabs. Push them in; pry up pinnacle embrace with pocket-size flathead screwdriver. Slide white meridian cover upwards and you volition now see the metal blades and assembly. Auger is held in place with a metal c-prune and washer on the end. Utilize flat head screwdriver to pry off c-clip. Then yous will see a nylon round slotted nut. The threads are contrary, utilise pliers and loosen nut. It is not that tight but pliers are needed. Then it all is loose and ready for removal. I slid all the blades off at in one case and kept them stacked together. Slide out auger and clear apartment shield comprehend. Install new auger, clear shield, and metal blade stack. When you put it all back together accept a look at the long metal J-claw on the bottom make sure information technology is in the slot before you make everything tight. Failing to exercise this volition prevent cubed ice from dispensing.
It is not that hard to do the repair information technology just takes some patience and paying attention to details.

Fridge besides warm, evaporator icing up

After replacing the defrost heater, main board and thermistor I still had the same problem. Chosen a repair guy and he (with the aid of GE on the phone) diagnosed that the temperature sensor was bad. So I ordered from partselect and installed it and it fixed the problem. Been good for a couple months (knocking on wood). To install I had to cut the 2 wires to the one-time sensor, crimp the 2 new wires on and snap the new sensor to the prune on the evaporator. Very easy. Make certain you lot seal the ends of the wire crimps and so wet doesn't go in and corrode the connectedness.
